What's New?

I've been a bit of a slacker with this blog, and I apologize. I can't really blame it on my crazy life because I know life is crazy for everyone this time of year. So, I have added a list of books to the sidebar that have been suggested for our reading pleasure. If there is anything you want me to add, just let me know!

Also, just to remind everyone we will not have book club this week. It has been moved to next Tuesday (November 16) at Rachel's house. You should have gotten an email with the address, but let me know if you need it again! We will be discussing The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor.

For December we are reading Goodnight Mr. Tom by Michelle Magorian. Happy reading!

Don't Forget!

We are nearing the middle of the month, so I just wanted to remind everyone to start reading "Into Thin Air" if you haven't already! Maybe the thought of all that snow and freezing temperatures will cool us down a little on these hot summer days while our kids are out swimming/wading in their pools! We'll meet again on August 12th at Jessie's house, I will send out an email reminder as it gets closer.

Happy Ice Cream month!

The Girl Who Could Fly

Did everyone have a chance to read "The Girl Who Could Fly" by Victoria Forester? It was a fun, quick read so I would recommend it if you haven't yet. We met at Ira's house last Thursday evening, and had a fun discussion about Piper and I.N.S.A.N.E. We drifted off topic a few times, but that's what makes book club fun, right?! Among the many things we talked about were what kind of super power we'd like to have and whether Conrad's character would have been more believable if he were a bit older. Do you have any thoughts you'd like to share about the book?

Welcome!

Just for fun I started this blog for my book club. If you'd like, you can read along with us and even leave comments! The first book we read and discussed is The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. We had a great discussion about this book (and a little about the sequel Catching Fire) and are looking forward to reading the final book in the series when it comes out in August.

The next book we are reading is The Girl Who Could Fly by Victoria Forester. We'll be meeting to discuss it on July 8th. Hope you like it!
